Overview

Cutleaf vipergrass is a biennial or perennial plant from Europe that invades rangelands, roadsides, and disturbed areas. It forms rosettes that can persist for several years before flowering.

How to Identify

Biennial or perennial with deeply cut, narrow leaves forming a basal rosette. Yellow dandelion-like flowers on branched stems 1-2 feet tall. Milky sap when broken.

Control Methods

Dig or pull rosettes before flowering. Herbicide treatment on rosettes.

Herbicide Recommendations

Picloram or clopyralid applied to rosettes.
